Event on 2014-10-04 08:00:00
Want to build an attractive, sophisticated blog or website—without having to learn any special coding? WordPress is the answer you're looking for! WordPress is one of the world's most popular Web design tools because it's free, it's easy to use, and it produces professional results.
In this step by step workshop, you'll get hands-on experience with this powerful tool as you create your own WordPress website. The instructor will walk you though from start to finish in small, easy to understand chunks. Then he will help you create what you learned. At the end of the day you will have your own functioning wordpress website. Websites normally cost over 00 to have built. With this class all you need to bring is your laptop!
As you walk through the process from start to finish, you'll find out how to use WordPress to create pages and posts, add images and videos, change a site's look and feel, and include user-friendly features. Discover the ease of using WordPress design themes to express your creativity.
Some of the highlights include:
- Understanding blogs, pages, posts, menus, plugins, widgets and more
- Learn SEO settings and best practices that boost your page ranking
- Setting up user accounts, admin settings and social media buttons
- Customizing your header, footer and sidebar areas
- Using the media library to manage pictures and galleries
- Learning to create your database and FTP account
In addition to mastering the technical elements of WordPress, you'll learn how to organize a blog or website, create appealing content, and achieve better positions on search engine results pages. By the end of this course, you'll be able to confidently use WordPress to create a blog or a personal, business, or organizational website.
This is a beta class and is priced lower than future classes of this type. At the end of the class we will ask you to give us feedback and what we could do better. There are only 20 seats. Please make sure your laptop is updated.
Your instructor will be Marc Ian Griffin with 7th Vision Marketing. Marc Ian is a web strategist and has built over 100 wordpress websites to date. Here is some of his work. – http://networkingcva.com/, http://drivebehindthewheel.com/, http://globalisos.com/, http://weightlosswonderssecrets.com/
