Wpromote Releases 2013 Holiday Shopping Statistics Breaking Down The Yuletide Shopping Splurge

El Segundo, CA (PRWEB) December 19, 2013

Award-winning search engine marketing firm, Wpromote, recently revealed its latest infographic, The Yuletide Shopping Splurge. The infographic was released on Cyber Monday, which is the marketing term for the Monday following Thanksgiving, encouraging people to shop online for great deals. It breaks down the commerce of online holiday shopping on Thanksgiving and Black Friday.

The Infographic data reveals that in spite of analysts predicting a slump in overall holiday shopping sales, the amount of shoppers who purchased online between Thanksgiving and Black Friday increased an impressive 29% from the previous year, and that both Thanksgiving and Black Friday online sales broke previously set holiday single-day sales records.

One of the lead sources that Wpromote utilized for this Infographic was Topsy, a social search and analytics company that was recently acquired by Apple. Topsy maintains a comprehensive index of tweets dating back to Twitters inception in 2006. This information, along with other social shared content, can be used to analyze and draw insight from trends and conversations on public social websites.

“We sourced most of the data for the tweet volume from Twitter using social search engine Topsy, so we were able to see the conversational trends regarding top products and then compare that to search volume via Google, said Ryan Farrell, Senior Creative Strategist at Wpromote.
